Happy Almost Valentine’s Day – please give yourself a hug for me!
To recap, in Week 1, your first-in-the-morning thoughts were noted. In Week 2, you were invited to ask yourself 3 questions each morning. How did you do? Did you feel uncomfortable or awkward asking yourself the questions each morning? Did your feelings change as you progressed through the week? If so, how?
And now, for the final step. This is where the magic happens.
Step 3
Now that you’re accustomed to having a ‘conscious conversation’ with yourself each morning upon awakening, adding this final step will be easy. Throughout your day, check in and see how you’re doing. Are your actions, activities, thoughts and behaviors taking you closer to your stated objective for the day?
If you’re activities are not taking you closer to your stated accomplishments for a successful day, you’re not alone! It is so easy to lose track of our agenda as the demands, distractions, intrusions and impositions of others take priority. Don’t despair – there is hope!
If you were on track and achieved your stated goal to have a successful day, congratulations and well done! I’d love to hear what you did each day to reward yourself.
Mastering this game changer, requires one thing – conscious commitment. That’s it. When you “consciously check in” throughout the day, you can see how you’re doing and adjust accordingly. Think of it as being the director of a movie – the director knows what she wants the audience to feel and experience. That’s what people remember – how you make them feel.
And that’s what you’ll remember – how you feel. Go ahead, give it a try. You just may discover, like I did, that having a conscious conversation with yourself can be a real game changer.
