Does it feel like an alien force has entered your body and devoured your vim, vigor and vitality?
Are your friends patting you on the shoulder and reassuring you “it” will get better – whatever “it” is?
Is it a mid-life crisis?
Or maybe the beginning of the dreaded menopause?
Perhaps you are experiencing a combination of being overwhelmed, stressed-out and under-appreciated.
Menopause is something I know a great deal about and wouldn’t wish on anyone! Egads and oh, my!
I also have experience with the other two maladies and can suggest a plan of action. First, I invite you to set aside that critical inner voice I not so affectionately refer to as my “head committee.” We’ll get back to this. Second, sit back, square your shoulders and take three deep breaths to clear your mind, body and soul.
Now, think of time, event or occasion when you were absolutely at the top of your game, doing your best, being the best of who you are. Recall the feelings you had, the smiles on the faces around you, the appreciation you felt from others. Savor the soul-filling nourishment those others shared with you. Feels good, doesn’t it?
That’s what you need a dose of to get you out of the doldrums. Here’s one very important lesson life has taught me: to get what you want, you have to know what you want. Taking action for action’s sake gives you the illusion of being productive. Taking action when you know what you need to do to get what you want is called being on purpose! When you have a purpose, even menopause can be less of a problem!

Question of the week: What do you want in relationships? Business? Life?
