Napoleon Hill, author of Think and Grow Rich, wrote these words “There is a difference between wishing for a thing and being ready to receive it. No one is ready for a thing, until they believe they can acquire it. The state of mind must be belief, not mere hope or wish. Open-mindedness is essential for belief. Closed minds will not inspire faith, courage or belief.”
When I read that, I paused, read it again then sat back in my chair. To say it is a profound thought would be true for me – perhaps I was ready to open my mind to a new idea, or perhaps I was ready to try something new. Whatever the reason, the importance of the words stayed with me. It became a pivotal moment in my life.
I shifted my thinking….I shifted from wishing and hoping to believing.
