The alarm goes off at oh-dark-thirty.  Jumping out of bed and into the shower, hair dryer, make-up. Then donning ‘appropriate office attire’, into the car and onto the freeway was my life for 15 years.  It may not have been my idea of easing into the day, however, I could do it.  Many a day started with a groan and ended with a sigh. You know the sigh – right?  Finding that ‘perfect’ position and knowing that sleep is soon whisking you away.  It’s a great feeling, isn’t it?  Ah, just thinking about that feeling makes me sigh!

That routine is now a decade past – and yet I can remember it as clearly as if it were this morning. But wait! It was this morning!  I committed to being in another county at 7:30 AM – and that definitely required an oh-dark-thirty routine.  Ugh – I’m out of the habit!

Today, my commute is down the hallway with breaks in my day to do laundry, the necessary errands, and relish in the joy that I am where I am today!!  I’m really looking forward to slipping in between the cool, freshly laundered sheets.  Even when circumstances, environment, routines and encounters change, some things remain the same!  Sigh…..
