The origin of Thanksgiving was to celebrate an abundant harvest to sustain another year. As most of us no longer toil in the fields, the intent of ‘thanksgiving’ has changed as individuals have embraced their own significance of the day. Regardless of what the day symbolizes to you, the concept of giving thanks and being in gratitude is significant. My goal is to be grateful on a daily basis – to live in the grace of gratitude. The more I live in that mindset, the more blessing come my way. How cool is that?

One of my many blessings is to have so many friends that touch my life on a daily basis. True friendship is such a gift – it’s when someone accepts you for who you are and loves you anyway! One of my most cherished friends, Christine, retired four years ago and she and her husband moved to Oregon . Here where it gets interesting. Since she has moved, we are actually ‘closer’ to one another. What I learned from that is that when someone is ‘convenient’, we may not invest the time or attention warranted to enrich the relationship. It is with distance that a concerted effort is made and then the gifts abound.

Recently, Christine and I hosted a four-week teleseries that was extremely well received. This was our first joint event and it was fabulous, not only for me, but for those who attended! What a gift to be in the presence of someone who really loves what they do and does what they love. Together, our energy is such an attractor. Yes, we have a powerful ‘attraction factor.’

There are many blessings in my life and my colleague and friend is a big one. Thank you, Christine, for being who you are and giving so much of yourself to the world. I am a better person because of you!

We all have a person in our life that has significantly contributed to our enrichment. Take a moment during this Thanksgiving season and thank them. That gift is yours to give back to the person who gave it to you.

Wishing you and yours abundance and peace,

Susan
